May Day
Hahaha it's kinda late to write about May Day, but it's better than nothing, right?
Before, I never know what does it means by May Day. Maybeee, the day of May? Hahaha :B Here, in Italy, everyone called May Day as Primo Maggio (means: first of May), and it does make sense rather than call it May Day :p As a tradition, on Primo Maggio, we have to go to the beach, and 'fa il primo bagno'! And, yes, I did it.
One of the AFS volunteer here, asked me to go with her to Cefalu, a small city near us with splendid beaches. So then, me & my hostmom with another AFS girl with their hostmom and hostsist, went with her & her twin son. We slept there for one night, and we spent like more than 20 hours on the beach, so you can imagine how does my skin looks like today. They do love being tanned and I really hate that, and they think that I'm so strange. When they were sleeping under the sunlight, I sat under the umbrella and still, I got more tanned than them. Even that I've putted my 50+ sunblock. Ah, my yellow Asiatic skin is gone :(
The beach was soooo amazing. The water was sooooooooooooooo clean (and so cold) that you can see the sand. It had no waves (not like wavy beaches in Indonesia), so we can go in miles away and swim. That day, no one went in to swim, because it was still too cold, but then my hostmom (who is an Austrian) went in. As you know, North-European people can suffer more cold than South-European people. Than we were all jealous, seeing her alone in a splendid sea. So we went in, and yeah, we were the only group of people who getting in. Hahahaha :D
Swimming in the beach is so amazing. My feet touched the white sand when I stopped swimming, and the water was so clean without any chemical products in it. I can see the sun up there and the sand out there. There is no borderline, it's all mine. It was my first time, and I had it in Italy. What a bless.
